Character |
Ferro silicon is smelted by silica.coking coal and waste steel in electric resistance furnace with high temperature.Si and Fe can mutually melt and form a series of silicon compounds in any proportion.It has grey color with metal luster.melting point is 1280℃.specific gravity is 3.11 for ferro silicon which contains 72% of silicon；and for75%.1300℃ and 3.01. |

Usage |
Widely used in steel making.non-ferrous metal casting and other industries：mainly used as deoxidizer and additive in steel making and casting industry.also used as an inoculant in nodular cast iron and a reducing agent in ferro alloy smelting of silicon heating method. |
